Workshop Description

As generative AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and CoPilot become more common in academic settings, health librarians play an essential role in shaping how these technologies are used in teaching, research, and learning. This interactive session introduces the capabilities and limitations of generative AI in the context of health education.

We’ll explore practical applications for instructional support, research guidance, and digital literacy development, alongside emerging challenges such as data privacy, citation integrity, and bias in health-related content. Participants will engage in hands-on exploration and discussion to consider how librarianship can adapt to, and help shape, the thoughtful use of AI in health-focused educational environments.
