Save the Date – February 22, 2019 Spring Continuing Education Event

Dear Colleagues,

Please Save the Date for the upcoming HLABC spring continuing professional development day on Friday, February 22nd 9:00am-3:30 pm at Woodward Library Sherrington Room and also available online.

Some of the offerings for the day:

  • PRESS Checklist workshop presented by Douglas M. Salzwedel MLIS, Information Specialist & Assistant Managing Editor Cochrane Hypertension
  • Lightening talks from Dean Giustini’s UBC iSchool class, LIBR 534 Health Information Sources and Services <https://slais.ubc.ca/libr-534/>
  • Health Librarians “This Changed my Practice”. You may be familiar with the physician blog, “This Changed my Practice” <https://thischangedmypractice.com/> which provides quick summaries of impactful clinical studies, clinical pearls and practice tips. The blog articles take 2-3 minutes to read and share 1. What I did before 2. What changed my practice 3. What I do now. For HLABC members “This Changed my Practice” we will share with colleagues a tip, handout, process, strategy, etc. that we now use that has made a difference to our practice (~5 minutes each). These ideas can be simple tidbits that you have found valuable. We warmly encourage you to share an idea/process/worksheet. We need speakers! Please contact Katherine Miller <http://directory.library.ubc.ca/people/view/740> by February 8th to reserve your spot.We warmly encourage you to share an idea/process/worksheet with colleagues
  • Lunch and socializing with colleagues

More details and registration closer to the date.
